Catherine Malandrino Hosts Event in Celebration of La Cienega Design Quarter Legends of Design Weekend

LOS ANGELES, CA: Catherine Malandrino will participate in the 2009 Legends of La Cienega Design Walk. Open to the public, the glamorous weekend-long event is set along Los Angeles’ preeminent design district – the La Cienega Design Quarter. With more than 40 luxurious shops and galleries, guests can stroll through the antiques, furniture, fine art, sensational bistros and boutiques as we pay tribute to past and present visionaries.

On Saturday May 9th at 3:30pm Catherine Malandrino will host a fashion presentation of her SS09 collection at the Catherine Malandrino Maison, followed by a panel discussion on pop design moderated by Degen Pener, Editor in Chief of Angeleno magazine, with renowned interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Extra TV fashion and style producer Brittany Weinstein and fashion designer Catherine Malandrino. There will also be a raffle for a $500 gift certificate at the event.

New to the hub of west-cost interior design and located at the heart of the district, the Catherine Malandrino Maison is the perfect addition to this year’s event. Her one-of-a-kind Maison is an innovative lifestyle boutique featuring the Catherine Malandrino and Malandrino collections, a library, and a café presented by “The Little Door” restaurant. Designed in collaboration with French architect Christophe Pillet, iconic pieces frame the space: a dramatic “Summer Rain” chandelier, with Murano hand-blown glass drops, suspended by metal chains, a patchwork of citrus glass screen, stainless steel bookshelves, and an oversized marble table. Aspects of the entire district are brought together under one elegant ceiling at the Maison.
