Teen Vogue: Review of Malandrino Fall 2010 Khan Collection
Around the World with Malandrino
By Laurel Pantin
Continuing with last season’s theme, the look at Malandrino was worldly! “This season, Catherine was inspired by Mongolian beauty,” said Tom Pecheux with MAC Cosmetics. “We’re giving them high-looking sharp cheekbones and a really powerful brow. We’re using a highlighter all over the cheek, and then going over the highlight with a pretty rosy blush. We’re not using anything on the eyelids, but lots of black pencil under the eyes.”
Teen Vogue favorite Odile Gilbert was with Phyto backstage, creating some seriously cool hair! “We’re going for a very organic look with natural texture, so we’re using Phyto Professional Intense Volume Mousse, Phytovolume Actif, Phyto Professional Fiber Paste,
and Phyto Professional Workable Holding Spray
. The texture we’re going for is not exactly curly, but not straight either, it’s kind of crazy. We’re not using a brush and we’re putting all the hair on top of the head to make a little tree! The hair just sticks up out of the top of the head with great texture, so I think it looks like a little tree – it’s very organic and poetic!”
